Lent

St. John's has worship services and other events throughout the season of Lent. This is a time when Christians are invited "to the observance of a holy Lent, by self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and self-denial; and by reading and meditating on God's holy Word" (BCP, p. 265).

Traditionally, the forty days preceding Easter are a time of preparation by for baptism, as well as a time for those separated from the church to be restored to the Christian assembly.  If you would like to be baptized at Easter, please notify the priest for preparation for this event.  If you wish to seek confession during this Lenten season, please set up an appointment for Good Friday with one of the clergy to hear your confession.  If you wish to seek membership in St. John's Church, please call the office and let our administrator know to ask for your transfer of membership from your current home parish.  If you would like to order Easter lilies for the alter, please contact the church office.

Holy Week - Easter

The Maundy Thursday service begins at 7:30 PM, includes the ceremonial foot washing and ends with the ritual stripping of the altar.

The liturgy for Good Friday, with communion from the reserved sacrament, is observed at 12:00 Noon.

The  Easter Sunday service will be at the regular 10 am service.
